Nana and Pepa: A Salute on their Centenary

One hundred years ago in Cuba were born both our grandmothers, Zoila Rosa López and Josefa Villafuerte. Before the first of us was born, Pepa’s life was already over. Nana died shortly after the last one of us got here. We wish we had gotten to know them better.

For our parents, for our children, for our close and distant relatives, and for ourselves, we write this family history to keep alive the stories and the memories of our raices and ramas.
